Veneers Can Help You Attain The Smile You've Been Looking For!

Posted on 11/25/2015 by Sergio Ortegon
A woman smiling and showing her dental veneers. Here at Ortegon Prosthodontics we know how important the first impression can be. A beautiful smile is the key component to every first impression you will ever make.

From a gap in your teeth to a crooked or off-white coloration, every mouth can use some touching up. Fortunately, dental technology has come a long way in the recent past and we can say with full confidence that veneers are dramatically successful both cosmetically and functionally.

What are veneers?

The concept of veneers is simple - your tooth will be covered by a thin sheet of either porcelain or composite material that acts as the tooth's new face. They appear natural and are extremely strong. Often people will feel as though they have had full orthodontics done after receiving veneers due to the incredible mouth transformation they are capable of. They are shaped in a lab with careful attention to detail to make your smile all it can be.

Why would I consider veneers?

Veneers are a fantastic solution to a number of cosmetic and restorative issues. Whitening your teeth can help you achieve a whiter smile but the time involved with the process can take a decent amount of time and often has to be repeated many times over the years. Veneers go on once and can last many years, if not decades. Crowns can help to achieve a straighter smile with fewer gaps or less crowding but can be a fairly intensive procedure. Veneers are an excellent and conservative alternative to all these issues.

Prosthodontists use veneers to achieve:
•  Whiter smile
•  Close gaps in teeth
•  Relieve overly crowded teeth
•  Correct issues like chipping or staining of teeth
•  Elongate teeth
•  Correct crooked and misshapen teeth
